Don and I have an exciting announcement to make! No, no, we aren’t getting married, this is even better. We are planning a kayaking trip to Bhutan! We will be running a Class IV kayaking trip November 17th through November 29th. The rivers will be mainly Class IV with a few options to go harder by using upper put in options if people are inspired. Why Bhutan? Details We are running our trip through Ugyen Dorji (Yougs) and his company Explore Bhutan. Yougs has years of experience in both the kayaking and travel world of Bhutan. A whitewater kayaker himself, Yougs has worked closely with his government to develop the ideal kayaking itinerary. You will actually be in Bhutan from November 17th through mid-day on November 29th. On the 29th, you will fly out of Bhutan. See our itinerary for exact details. Our trip cost is $5,350 USD. This includes kayak rental (see boat list), lodging, all meals, 1 Bhutanese guide plus Don and me, your visa fees and processing, your daily spending allotment, government fees, and all domestic travel including 1 flight. The rate does not include your airfare to Asia–either Bangkok, New Delhi, or Katmandu–and then onto Bhutan. It also does not include drinks, tips, or souvenirs. Click here for more details on travel See our packing list here. Because Bhutan is open to a limited number of travelers each year, advance reservations (6 months) are necessary if you want to ensure you get a place in this magnificent country. A 10% deposit is necessary to hold your spot. Click here to see Yougs’ cancellation policy. We need a minimum of 8 people to make this trip happen, so even if you can’t go, please help us spread the word by sharing this with friend who may be able to join us.
To learn more about Bhutan, visit the tourism council’s website. After an incredible, fun filled hiatus, Don and I very excited to be “back in the game.” Bhutan is just the first of many new whitewater destinations that we have in the works. As Bhutan is truly the trip of a lifetime on so many levels, we hope you can join us in November. But if you cannot, keep in touch as we’ll be paddling all over the world in the years to come. Happy New Year everyone, we hope to see you on the water soon. Please call or email if you want to sign up, or have other questions. darcygaechter@gmail.com 970 987 1104
